Committee members: John Morgan & Henry Godfrey

Webmaster
Wilfried Dautlich

When Jenny Dautlich and her husband Wilfried moved to Goucestershire in 1999 there was no aphasia support in the community.

They decided to start a self-help group.

With the help of Prof Chris Code of Speakability, the county's speech and language therapy department (SaLT), and Mary Bracewell and Dorothy and Leo Sobel, 'Glos-Speak' was founded in December 2000.

We are a friendly and supportive group of people, and anyone who has aphasia is welcome. Speakability do not allow us to accomodate other types of communication problems. If in doubt ask your SaLT or GP.

When do we meet?
First Tuesday of each month from 2-4pm.

Where do we meet?
St George's Church Hall, Tuffley, Grange Road, GL4 0PE.

How to get there on public transport:
Bus 93 from Stroud to Tuffley Lane, Tuffley (get off at "Esso"). From there it's about half a mile.

From Cheltenham & Gloucester take bus no. 10 to Grange Road, Tuffley. From there is about 300 yards.

Members pay £20/year towards costs, such as hall rent, tea & b's, postage, upkeep of website & workshops.

The group enjoys Activities and Outings, such as Sailing & BBQ, Art classes, Theatre visits, Canal cruises, 10-pin bowling, visiting places, Christmas lunch and more.
